Get Wisdom 10:4 Work Diligently

from Connecting Faith & Life with Mister Brown · host Mister Brown

Poverty: is it more than just a lack of money? The Bible says yes. Wealth and poverty go much deeper than our finances, and Wisdom says there are different consequences for slacking off or choosing to be diligent. Growing up, my mother made me and my siblings do chores and housework. She taught us its value. This time, in Proverbs chapter 10, we’ll learn about the value of hard work. Verse of the day Proverbs 10:4, “A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.” Poverty is not just the idea of having money or not having money. There’s a poverty mindset, an impoverished way of viewing the world. If you’re lazy, you won’t achieve much. If you cut corners, you won’t do much with your life. If we want to be in a season of less poverty, we have to work hard. It’s your choice.   In Thessalonians, the Bible says that if a man doesn’t work, he doesn’t eat. It is a lack of willingness to work that lands us in the mindset of poverty. Again, wealth is more than just having money. You can be rich financially, but poor in spirit, poor in their view on life, etc. STOP BEING LAZY (“a slack hand”) Put your best effort out there EVERY time (“the hand of the diligent”) This makes you rich. Work as though you’re working for Jesus. Stop comparing yourself to others. Just do your best. Be diligent. Colossians 3:23, “Whatever you do, work at it heartily as for the LORD, not for men, knowing that from the LORD you will receive an inheritance as your reward. You are serving the LORD Christ.” We’d love to hear from you!
