James was appointed to the FDNY in Jan of 1994, and Assigned to 1 Truck right out of the academy, where he continued to work for the next 24 years until he retired in 2008. We will be discussing his experiences at the Watts St Fire, Lerner Fire, and Wylie Fire to name a few. James Hanlon has also become an award winning TV Director, Writer, Cinematographer and Producer. His iconic documentary 9/11 series & first hand account of the September 11th attacks was captured as the events took place. In 2016, for the 15th anniversary of his award-winning 9/11 documentary series, he served as executive producer, director and cinematographer for CNN's 9/11: Fifteen Years Later.
