He got appointed to the job in 1973, and after six weeks of Proby School was assigned to 3 Truck in Manhattan. He Caught the "NYC Telephone Fire" - first due Irons Man, on Feb. 27, 1975. Nearly 700 FDNY FF's have died from cancer from this job. He was laid off until 1976 where he was assigned to 31 Truck in the Bronx. He transferred to 9 Truck in 1980 on Great Jones St. in the Bowery until he retired in the early 90s. He spends alot of his time speaking about cancer and the NY telephone fire and remembering the 700+ members who have died from it over the years...You don’t want to miss this one.
