GETTIN' SALTY EXPERIENCE PODCAST Ep.161 Our special guest will be Anthony Greco. Anthony, a professional hockey player, is the son of Paul Greco, an FDNY firefighter for more than 20 years working in Eng275, Sq18 and Sq270. He passed away at 54 in May of 2020 after battling several illnesses that resulted from breathing toxic air at Ground Zero following the World Trade Center. Along with being dedicated to his career, Paul was also a longtime fan of the New York Rangers and was naturally invested in his son’s hockey career. After years of driving him to games and practices, Paul moved his family to Minnesota so Anthony could attend Shattuck St. Mary’s — a boarding high school that proclaims itself the “Hockey Center of Excellence.” Anthony, who became the first Queens native to ever play for the NY Rangers, signed in New York after he played in the AHL within the Panthers, Lightning and Sharks organizations.
