There's many ways in horror for victims to be dispatched... And as insane as it sounds, one of the most memorable moments a film can have is when someone's noggin is completely disposed of. Yes, it's extreme but that's horror at times, depending on what you're into. I find it most interesting that horror writers have come up with inventive and wild ways for beheadings to take place during a film.
