Getting back to socialising

from Dead Parent Club

Getting back to everyday activities can seem like an impossible task when you're in the depths of grief. In this week's episode, we share our own experiences of getting back to socialising and catching up with friends, family and strangers at events or one-on-one after our parents died. We talk about identifying as the boy/girl who's parent/s has died, leaning on alcohol to get through social situations, using humour to talk about our loss and how grief and death has changed the way we socialise forever. We also shared the advice from our wonderful DPC community on the best ways to get back out there and start doing the things you enjoy again. As always - we hope you enjoy this week’s episode! You're Dead to Me BBC Radio 4 The comedy podcast that takes history seriously. In each episode of You’re Dead to Me from BBC Radio 4, Greg Jenner is joined by a comedian and an expert historian to learn and laugh about the past.History isn’t just about dates and textbooks – it’s about extraordinary characters, amazing stories, and some very questionable fashion choices. How long did it take to build an Egyptian pyramid? What does the Bayeux Tapestry reveal about medieval life? Why did it take nearly half a millennium for Joan of Arc to become a saint? And was Catherine the Great really all that great? Whether you want to explore ancient landmarks like Stonehenge and Machu Picchu, dance through the history of Broadway and Bollywood, or find out how the Tudors rose to power, Greg and his guests promise to teach you something new that you won’t have heard in history lessons.Previous episodes of You’re Dead To Me have covered everything from royals to revolutionaries, actors to activists and divas to d Alice Isn't Dead Night Vale Presents A truck driver searches across America for the wife she had long assumed was dead. In the course of her search, she will encounter not-quite-human serial murderers, towns literally lost in time, and a conspiracy that goes way beyond one missing woman. Anatomy of Next Founders Fund In the second season of Anatomy of Next, explore every aspect of going to Mars, transforming it into a habitable world, and building a new branch of human civilization. How do we bring a cold, dead planet back to life? Can we build an atmosphere on Mars, thaw the frozen plains, and build an ocean? How do we seed a barren land with life, and make a red Mars green? Then, it’s everything from politics and education to money, music, and architecture. What does it mean to be human on an alien world?
