Getting closer to home

Getting closer to home I finally set sail, I hit the cruise  And I’m through singing the blues  No more wandering, no time to roam Baby you know I’m getting closer to home Broke down the walls, I put out the fires Fed up with the promises peddled by liars Washed out of my hair, untangled with a comb Letting it fly in the breeze as I’m getting closer to home  Too many days spent pulling at it and screaming Too many nights alone constantly dreaming  Of this day and this time, think I’ll write a pretty poem  I’m so excited for this moment cause honey I’m getting closer to home  Closer to home and your loving arms Ready to give you my loving charms Closer to spending our lives together  No matter where or what kind of weather  Everyone who thought this day would never happen we’ll show’em Cause baby it’s happening yeah I’m getting closer to home!
