Getting our feet wet | Joshua 3:13

from Conversations with Ray Martinez · host Ray Martinez

Joshua was incharge of leading the people across the Jordan to win a battle.  This was a shortcut, but not an easy one. Yet God directed them to cross about 100 feet of water that may be approximately 10 feet deep.  The crossing of a turbulent river at flood stage would have been difficult.  This happened around 1406 BC.  God assured them that if they entered the water with the Ark, they would enter dry land as their feet got wet.  That has to be a defining moment for their trust and faith in God. In this instance, the priests, carrying the Ark had to be thinking that if we drop this Ark they were dead.  They knew that the fast flowing water could trip them up. and kill them.  For them to dare, to step into the water with the Ark of God, not only demonstrated courage, it was a complete illustration of their faith, trust, and conviction.  Listen in as we think about our own challenges in life.
