Getting out of your Comfort Zone

from Sanjay Prajapati · host Dr. Sanjay Prajapati

A person's "comfort zone" is called that because it's comfortable and safe. However, your comfort zone can also be a place of stagnation. God is calling you out of a place of stagnation into a place that is filled with opportunities for growth. This week's Torah portion is Lech Lecha. It means to “Go for yourself." [Genesis 12:1 RSV] "1 Now the LORD said to Abram, "Go from your country and your kindred and your father's house to the land that I will show you." God called Abram out of his comfort zone. Abraham's destination was a land that God was going to show him. God rewarded Abram for every step he took. He didn’t know where he was going. God kept him in suspense in order to intensify his joy and sense of anticipation. Likewise, the Lord will keep you in suspense because you have no clue what God has in store for you. The Lord's plans for you are amazing: [Jeremiah 29:11 RSV] "11 For I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."
