Getting ready to meet Ralphie!

from ROCK MORNINGS · host Brian Simpson

We did it. Made it through the short, holiday week. Whew. Jean's still out, but she'll return next Thursday after the New Year. We started the morning with an update on that plane crash in Kazakhstan, some absentee ballots in Wisconsin that apparently went missing, a Wisconsin Correctional Officer who was killed by a suspected drunk driver, and the Waukesha man accused of a hit-and-run on I-94 that killed a tow truck driver getting charged. In sports, we recapped last night's Thursday Night Football stinker between Chicago & Seattle, a rundown of yesterday's wild college bowl games, and a look ahead at today's bowl game schedule. Plus, the Nielsen ratings are in for the NFL on Netflix and let's just say that it was definitely a success! Let you know what's on TV and in theaters this weekend, and we finally have an answer to the question, "What did Kevin's father do for a living in the 'Home Alone' movies?" And speaking of "Home Alone", which of the booby traps do you think would hurt the most? Cool story about a fisherman that saved a woman that was caught in a riptide, and a couple of guys who fell through the ice with their UTV got saved in Barron County. Talked about Dictionary.com's "Word of the Year" and if you're overwhelmed by the amount of passwords you have to remember, you're NOT alone. In today's "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a woman that tried to make her own food at a Chipotle, a baby that was abandoned in the median of a road in Colorado on Xmas day wearing nothing but a diaper, a Grinch helped apprehend some criminals in Peru, and a really fat dog!
