Getting Sidetracked. EP 187

English from all angles! We pick up where we left off with rear-wheel-drive and front-wheel-drive cars - and the story of Drew’s parents’ 1982 Honda Civic and BMW 530. Drew gets sidetracked (again!), so he doesn’t discuss the verb “to be” in as much depth as planned. But you’ll learn the useful expression “to get sidetracked,” meaning to become distracted from what you were originally doing or talking about. And yes, we eventually return to the verb “to be” - sort of. In this episode, you’ll learn how sandbags - and “sandbagging” - can “solve” problems, whether you’re driving on snow or creating a sales budget. You’ll also learn the expression “to gain traction,” as in, “His idea is gaining traction.”
