Getting the job Done

Welcome back! Today Gordon wants to talk about getting the job Done! This week was Gordon's 50th park run! An achievement for sure and Gordon was excited with his progress so far and the time he managed. As to be expected, Park run have cancelled many events throughout Europe and (unfortunately) Gordon is anticipating this being his last run for the foreseeable future. Gordon hopes everyone is following all the appropriate guidance for COVID19 and are all keeping well, let him know how you are doing and anything you think other listeners could benefit from! Getting The Job Done Dont get 'bogged down' by minor day-to-day issues; much of these are out of our control and it is wasted effort and energy trying to control these situations and issues. Save this time and gusto for the real problems and focus where focus is needed. Keep Moving Forward. Are you struggling to make progress? Step back, take a look at where the bottlenecks are and see what you can do to improve or fix those issues, to allow everything to pick up and speed progress.  Overwhelm. The more tasks you have on-the-go at any one time, the more unfocused you are. Every time you leave a task unfinished, you leave your focus with it. Before you know it, you have no focus left as you're left in pieces over many different unfinished tasks. Gordon acknowledges this makes it much harder for him to make good decisions in this scenario, so when he finds himself overwhelmed he organises his tasks in a ranking so he can give all the focus to the top 3 high priority tasks. He won't move on till he has finished all 3 of these, then reassess his remaining tasks and repeats the process If you are struggling, get in touch and let Gordon know!
