Getting the Most from Orchestral Sample & Virtual Instrument Libraries

from TAXI TV · host TAXI Independent A&R

Watch This Episode on YouTube: https://youtu.be/7TEgi68uSPM At last year’s Road Rally (TAXI’s free convention), I played an exciting orchestral cue titled “Across the Valley” by member, Martin Tichy. I love that piece, and the audience in the grand ballroom quickly understood why! As I got to know Martin better, it was pretty easy to understand why his music was so good -- in particular his orchestral work. You see, his grandfather was a violin teacher, and they lived in Austria, a country revered for its classical musicians and composers. At some point, Martin became a drummer, playing in rock and country bands. His grandfather must have loved that, lol! He returned to playing violin seven years later. He also studied business and economics while in college. Martin’s pedigree served him well as worked for Warner Music and EMI, and eventually when he started his own marketing company, which led him to become Vienna Symphonic Library’s Marketing Manager. Martin understands what an orchestra is supposed to sound like, and that my friends is key to creating believable music with sample and virtual instrument libraries! Don’t miss this one-of-kind episode with a man who will get your head pointed in directions you might have never uncovered on your own. We will discuss the “floor plan” of an orchestra, articulations, bowing techniques, and anything else I can think of to get this humble, generous man to teach you things that somebody who is merely interested in how a library sounds “right out of the box” might overlook. We will play you some samples, and maybe even more importantly, I’m going to dedicate a substantial amount of time to viewer questions. ------------------------------------ Learn More About TAXI: http://bit.ly/2mPVGYh Rub Elbows with Music Industry Pros at Our FREE Yearly Convention: http://bit.ly/2a9mwlp View Our Current Music Industry Opportunities: http://bit.ly/28JPUyd Connect with Fellow Songwriters on the TAXI Forum: http://bit.ly/2DENChs Listen on the Go with the TAXI TV Podcast: Apple Podcasts: http://apple.co/2afebwW Google Play: http://bit.ly/2a7cCQX Stitcher: http://bit.ly/2FuSTJQ Soundcloud: http://bit.ly/2icUDe0 TuneIn: http://bit.ly/2DCzKrd Connect With Us On...
