Getting Through the Darkness of Hard Times Podcast
from Bible Shorts With BibleBob · host Bob Kuebler
Getting Through the Darkness of Hard Times 🕯️✝️🕯️ "For thou wilt light my candle: The LORD my God will enlighten my darkness." Psalm 18:28 This podcast/video was recorded inside a cliff dwelling where Native Americans lived many years ago. It was like a city on a hill with a view over the countryside. The reasons they vacated their homes could be many, but obviously they faced the darkness of hard times. Some night seasons that darken the soul are longer than others. Physical pain, emotional pain - relationship pains - can blot out hope of ever changing if you let them. God designed darkness to flee. The sun may disappear over the horizon of darkness, but it surely always reappears with the dawning of a new day. Even the dark of night is dotted with light from the moon and stars. A little light soon gives way to brighter light. Focus on the light within you on your darkest days and know that this too shall pass. You may not see the way forward, but trust that God does. He designed the seasons as he knows the way of your life. The four changing seasons of life are contained in one breath. 1. Exhale and let go. Allow darkness to fall away knowing it won't be with you forever. Let it go like Autumn leaves from trees. Forgive & Release. 2. In the split-second pause in between breaths is a rest. The Shabbat of creation. Growth appears to be frozen in a bleak midwinter. Pause, be still and know - God has a plan for light to come in your darkness. 3. Inhale the freshness of new beginnings in Spring. Just believe, your faith is a seed that will one day leave its place in the darkness under the soil and stretch to new life as it warms to the rays of the Son. 4. When the inhaled air hits your lungs, an explosion occurs. Fresh oxygen is pumped into your blood giving you a biological reset. God provides a fresh start in every breath. Every time we breathe, fresh oxygen enters our bodies, and the waste product of carbon dioxide is removed. A fresh start in every breath. The big picture in life is created one breath at a time. Stale air will leave your body, darkness won't stay in your life. You may have to survive one breath at a time in some seasons, but stay focused on the light for it will surely come to shine brighter with each passing breath. It's only a little light for now, but it will shine brighter as you believe. Yep, you've heard it before, "This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine." This too shall pass. You can get through the darkness of hard times with the light of Christ. He will strengthen you. Even in the darkness - especially in the darkness - it's your time to shine! Thanks for your time. Go do something nice for somebody. Jesus loves you and so do we. https://biblebob.org/how-to-subscribe-to-our-podcast-and-youtube-videos
