Getting to Yes

from Learned by Doing · host Maegan Tomela Burke

Most of what I know about negotiation I've picked up from my homie Chad while watching him navigate business deals. I came across someone on TikTok raving about Getting to Yes by Roger Fisher & William Ury and I’m really into the book so far.Roger Fisher founded the Harvard Negotiation Project (HNP) in 1979 after encouragement from Ury and then research assistant Bruce Patton. Apparently his eccentric joie de vivre and unique approach to international relations deserved recognition and thus, the HNP was born.I just started the book, but I had to share with you a piece about approaching a negotiation with mutual interests in mind rather than focusing on positions. You can find this pod on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Substack.
