"Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" Acts 19:2 – "No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit."          Who is the Holy Spirit? 1.     The Holy Spirit is God (Genesis: 1:2) "Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters" (Joel 2:28 NKJV) "And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;" (Acts 10:38) "…how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him."  2.     The Holy Spirit is a separate experience (Mark 1:8) "I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit."  (John 20:21-22)  "Again Jesus said, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you." And with that he breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit." (Acts 1:4-5)  "On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: "Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about.  For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit." (Acts 8:14-17) "When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them. When they arrived, they prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit, because the Holy Spirit had not yet come upon any of them; they had simply been baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.
