Ο ρόλος της Βάνιας, ήταν ένα σημαντικό κομμάτι της ζωής της Ματίνας και όταν κόπηκε η εκπομπή ΝΜ από τον Alpha η ζωή της άλλαξε. Κακοποίησε πολύ το σώμα της προκειμένου να μπορέσει να ανταποκριθεί στις ανάγκες του ρόλου σε σημείο που έπαθε ρήξη χιαστού και έσπασε και τον μηνίσκο της. Όταν δεν είχε εργασία, ζήτησε από τον Νίκο Μουτσινά. Η αβεβαιότητα της έλλειψης σταθερού συμβολαίου την έκανε να ανησυχήσει για το αν μπορεί να προσφέρει στο παιδί της όλα όσα χρειάζεται. Ο χωρισμός με τον σύζυγό της την έκανε να χάσει τη γη κάτω από τα πόδια της. Νιώθει ενοχικά για το γεγονός ότι δεν μπόρεσε να χαρίσει στον γιό της, ένα αδερφάκι. Η πιο πρόσφατη κρίση πανικού, την βρήκε σπίτι όπου ήρθε κοντά της ο πρώην σύζυγός της με τον οποίο διατηρούν εξαιρετικές σχέσεις. Θέλει τον έρωτα στη ζωή της και είναι έτοιμη να τον υποδεχτεί χωρίς αυτό να σημαίνει πως και χωρίς αυτόν, δεν νιώθει ισορροπημένη.
