Gift of Grace - Fr. Micah - October 22, 2023

The Gospel of Saint Luke recounts the restoration of the demon-possessed man in Gerasenes. The man was troubled, unclothed, and living among the tombs. While this story may feel far removed from our lives in modern society, Father Micah reminds us that this story is the story of all humanity. Like the demon-possessed man, we have all been stripped of our garments of innocence, enslaved by our passions, and deadened by sin. However, like the restored man, through Baptism, Chrismation, and the Holy Eucharist, we are born again, clothed in glory, and made alive in the body and blood of Christ Jesus. As Christians, we must live out this grace that we are gifted through the mysteries of the church. Through humility, repentance, and participation in the life of the Church, may we, like the restored man, realize the gift of God’s grace in our life and share the hope we have in Christ Jesus.
