GITM 43: Karakuri (Mechanism) | Beyond Konoha Part 1
from Get In The Mecha
This episode is the beginning of a three-part mini-series, looking at three one-shot manga (Karakuri, Mario & Bench) by none other than the legendary mangaka, Masashi Kishimoto. Throughout the series, I will be trying to uncover what these manga demonstrate about Kishimoto's development as a writer and artist, as well as the value that comes from understanding / analysing his creative process. In this episode in particular, I look at Karakuri (1995); I discuss why I believe this is a 'forgotten' battle-shounen manga, what the manga represents for the sub-genre and why inspiration is so valuable for creatives (as proven by Kishimoto). This podcast episode, as well as this mini-series, in no way represents Masashi Kishimoto - these are all my thoughts & opinions of his work.
