First Chronicles 16–17 records a joyful moment in Israel’s history and an important promise concerning Israel’s future.The Ark of the Covenant had finally been brought to Jerusalem according to God’s instructions. David organized worship, appointed ministers, offered sacrifices, blessed the people, and gave them a song of thanksgiving.The nation was called to remember God’s works, seek His presence, proclaim His salvation, and declare His glory among the nations.In chapter 17, David desired to build a permanent house for God. However, God told David that his son would build the Temple.
