Giving and the Local Church (2 Corinthians 9)

Although it is very, very obvious we often miss that almost all the writings in the NT were written to a local church. It can be exciting to talk about the Church Universal or to criticize "the church" or "evangelical churches' broadly. But, really, the local church is where the action is. The local church is where the game is played. The local church is where we see best how powerful the Gospel is in our lives. The Local church is where we see best how much we love God. In our text, we see how well the local church in Corinth was doing when it comes to giving in order to see how we measure up to the pattern of Scripture.
