Dr. Ruth Liu and Dr. Chung Liu(Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga)Dr. Ruth Liu moved to Chattanooga from Chicago in 1976 - after her husband Chung completed his residency.Together, they opened his OBGYN practice.Ruth taught for years at Southern Adventist University - and then she went back to school, earning a doctorate in higher education leadership and policy studies at the University of the Tennessee.Early on, she learned the value of giving back - which brings us to a property here in Chattanooga that Ruth and her husband have owned on Shallowford Road for many years.The Lius are longtime supporters of the Community Foundation, where Ruth is a board member - and where Caroline von Kessler is vice president of philanthropy.I spoke with Ruth, Caroline - and Jens Christensen is president and CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga.
