Giving Tuesday kicks off a crucial month for Canadian charities

Black Friday and Cyber Monday have passed and spending for the holidays is ramping up, but many charities are asking us to take a pause from rampant consumerism and think about helping others. And so Giving Tuesday, a global generosity movement. It began in 2012 in New York City. The day, which falls on the first Tuesday after American Thanksgiving — this year on Dec. 3 — encourages donations to non-profit, community organizations, individuals and causes.
