Glacier National Park in northwestern Montana on the United States Canadian border covers more than 1 million acres. The park, established in 1910, contains two distinct mountain sub-ranges and borders Waterton Lakes National Park to the north in Canada. Waterton Lakes National Park makes up almost another 125,000 acres of protected wilderness to the area.
