Gladiator 2 (2024) Movie Review | Almost Perfect

After Decades of waiting Gladiator is back with Ridley Scott returning to the coliseum filled with carnage, blood, Paul Mescal, and of course Denzel Washington. Gladiator 2 is an almost perfect movie and a perfect followup to the original Gladiator that it made me have faith in Ridley Scott again. This is Zach Pope's Movie Review for Gladiator 2. Over two decades after the events of Gladiator, Lucius—the son of Lucilla and Maximus lives with his wife and child in Numidia. Roman soldiers led by General Marcus Acacius invade, killing his wife and forcing Lucius into slavery. Inspired by Maximus, Lucius resolves to fight as a gladiator under the teaching of Macrinus, a former slave who plots to overthrow the young emperors Caracalla and Geta.
