Gladwell Draws Wrong Lesson From Munk Debate Disaster (Episode #132, May 10, 2023)

In Episode 124, I covered Malcolm Gladwell's disastrous performance in the Munk Debates along with his debating partner, Michelle Goldberg. In a recent Gladwell's podcast, Revisionist History, he acknowledges how poorly he did and recruited three top debating debating experts to explain why he did so poorly. After consulting with the experts, Gladwell identifies some things he learned to improve the debating skills, but he still doesn't get it. His poor debate was just than just poor debating technique.
