Global' s Linda Olsen Signs Off, Tragedy vs. Mental Health, and What to Watch this Weekend

from The Morning Brew with Andrew Schultz · host Corus Radio

For 29 years Linda Olsen has been delivering news to Calgarians on Global TV, and this coming Monday, Linda will sign-off for the last time. We invited Linda into the studio for a trip down memory lane as we look back at her illustrious career and find out what’s ahead for this iconic Canadian. Things can be replaced and homes and businesses can be rebuilt, but the toll on mental health can last a lifetime. The residents of Jasper are grappling with personal loss and the loss of much of their community as they return to the town today. To talk about how to best support the mental health of those suffering such a crushing loss, we invited Peter Silverstone, Professor in the department of Psychiatry at the University of Alberta to join the conversation. And as always on your Friday morning, we check in with our resident Couch Potato Brett Megarry to find out what’s new and what’s hot at the movie theatre and on your streaming services!
