The job descriptions of athletic directors around the world seem to keep expanding. Recently with the introduction of child protection regulations and even more so now with COVID management. In this episode Matt and Nick welcome two very close colleagues in Matt Yoder from QSI Bratislava and Andy Harrison from AIS Vienna. Andy, who is actually Nick boss, talks about the unique ‘Events Office’ situation at AIS Vienna before the guys get in depth into their child protection and safeguarding roles at their schools. Matt and Andy have both had their roles as traditional AD's expand in recent years. With Athletics on hold many ADs are doing COVID related work not just to keep busy but also because they are equipped to do so. The guests talk about their changing roles while also expanding on what they thing will remain once things get back to normal. Before leaving Matt and Andy share their very similar favorite things about their adopted homes of Slovakia and Austria. Then after an ad break Matt discusses his changing role in Budapest and asks if any international AD's out there are currently working on wellness activities for their communities.
