Globetrottin' ADs - S2E8 - Kieran Powell: Athlete, Entrepreneur, Inspiration

Having athletes excel in sports, business, and life is what all Athletic Directors and Coaches wish for their students and on this week's episode Nick and Matt are joined by someone who is the embodiment of that. Kieran Powell is an international cricketer who has played for the Nevisian senior national team since he was 13 before going on to play for the West Indies. He is still an active player but also a prominent business man with many different exciting projects on the way. Kieran joins Nick and Matt because of his international schools roots at Millfield in Somerset England. Since and early age Kieran has known he would be a professional cricket player but that did not stop him from playing multiple sports while in school. The guys discuss the benefits of multi sport participation before talking about the second most popular sport in the world, cricket! The majority of student athletes do not turn professional so a life after sports is important. Although Kieran is still playing he is not satisfied being ‘just an athlete’ as he tells the guys about all of his current and upcoming projects that he has with his amazing (agent, lawyer, author and “coach”) wife, Emma Everett. After Kieran shares his favorite places in the world Nick and Matt talk about some other professional athletes who went to international schools but their list is not a long one.
