Glory

For our first episode of Black History Month, Jim picked Glory (1989), based on the true story of one of the first all-Black regiments of the Union Army of the Civil War. Listen as we discuss the performances, the stakes for Black soldiers in the Civil War, and the way battles were fought pre-20th century. We also touch on the causes of the Civil War (slavery!), the formation of West Virginia, and how the Confederates were big old losers. Follow us on instagram at sumofourpartspod!
