Glory Connection — Fiery Streams from God’s Presence

God's throne is also known as the Merkavah (Chariot).  Isaiah, Ezekiel, and John received similar visions of God's throne. [Isaiah 6:1 RSV] "1 In the year that King Uzzi'ah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and his train filled the temple." [Ezekiel 1:4 RSV] "4 As I looked, behold, a stormy wind came out of the north, and a great cloud, with brightness round about it, and fire flashing forth continually, and in the midst of the fire, as it were gleaming bronze." [Revelation 4:2 RSV] "2 At once I was in the Spirit, and lo, a throne stood in heaven, with one seated on the throne!" Daniel describes the throne of God as a fiery flame with wheels of burning fire. [Daniel 7:9 RSV] "9 As I looked, thrones were placed and one that was ancient of days took his seat; his raiment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like pure wool; his throne was fiery flames, its wheels were burning fire."
