There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory. INSPIRATION: The maxim, "All fingers are not equal," is often used to justify underperformance using some well established criteria of measurement. But it hardly ever points its users to their unique differences, which in truth, is nothing to be ashamed of but to celebrate. The unique difference in our personality explains why no one should expect two individuals to operate same manner of giftings with equal level of output or shine equally. Yet is doesn't preclude us from shining. Whenever we make excuses, we validate the wise saying, "Excuses are tools of the incompetent, monument of nothingness; they that use it are not wise." If the sun is never threatened by the glory of the moon or stars and vice versa, you shouldn't be either when others outshine you in certain areas. Rather, look out for your unique area of rounded giftedness and competence, and work your craft until you become a household name in that field. Carry yourself with dignity while striving for excellence in other areas. Make the things you do less than others become the catalyst that drives you into deeper study and productivity both in the area of your strength and in places where you're not so grounded, but never give room to strife, bitterness, envy or unhealthy competition. Rather, expose yourself to more light so that the glory of your crown can shine visibly to the profit of all (1 Tim. 4: 15). TODAY'S TAKE HOME: Find out the things you do so effortlessly and efficiently. Improve on them. Discover new passion-triggers and develop interest in those areas. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal your unique glory and how He wants you to use it. PRAYER: Oh Lord, open my eyes to the reality of my unique difference and give me the wisdom to accept and celebrate the discoveries. Help me to deploy same to your glory as You deliver me from the bondage of comparison that leads to poor self-worth. I embrace my uniqueness and shine your glory everywhere I go, in Jesus name.
