Coming up this week we are excited to have Grandmaster Rene Latosa of Latosa Escrima.  He is a life long martial artist/eskrimador, one of the early students at the legendary Stockton Escrima Academy, beginning his training as a young teenager in 1968 with such FMA legends as the great Angel Cabales, Max Sarmiento, Leo Giron, and Dentoy Revillar.  However, Grandmaster Rene Latosa refined his training further under the personal tutelage of his father, Juan Latosa, under whom he learned the finer points of fighting concepts, different weapons, and his father's philosophy. Grandmaster Rene realized the importance of concepts in relationship to techniques, and from this synthesis of training, Latosa Escrima Concepts was born.  Grandmaster Rene Latosa has spread his unique perspective on fighting throughout the world.  His unique approach emphasizes the concepts of balance, speed (timing and distance), power, focus, and transition.
