These animals provide comfort to people that are in pain or suffering through terminal illnesses. One day while at a child cancer ward with my other dog Betty Boop, who is fine, a parent came over to me and began to talk. They told me that their young son was two days away from picking up his new puppy. He then got his cancer diagnosis and has not left the hospital since. Earlier that day I had seen a friend of mine who’s puppies had just been weaned. Coincidence? The next day I show up at the hospital with a brand new puppy love at first sight. The boy and the parents are both very happy. As part of my daily ritual I bring the puppy to the hospital to play with his favorite patient. This is all been going wonderful until today.
