Go Up And Build: Haggai 1:8-11: Day 4

Godly conviction isn't meant to leave us feeling guilty; it's meant to move us toward faithful obedience.Yesterday God said:Consider your ways.Today He tells them what to do next:“Go up to the hills and bring wood and build the house.”Go.Bring.Build.God doesn't expose what's wrong simply so His people can feel bad about it.Conviction is an invitation to change direction.Sometimes we can confuse feeling convicted with actually responding to conviction.We hear something.It hits us.We feel uncomfortable.Maybe we even pray about it.But then life continues exactly as before.Haggai reminds us that repentance eventually has to become movement.The people couldn't rebuild the entire temple that afternoon.But they could go get wood.They could take the next obedient step.And sometimes that's exactly what faithfulness looks like.Not fixing everything today.Not becoming a completely different person overnight.Just asking:God, what is the next thing You've already shown me to do?And then doing it.💬 Reflect: What is one concrete step of obedience you already know God is asking you to take?
