Hello hello hello ladies, Jen's boys girls non gender conforming gender fluid any every and anyone Good morning. Good evening. Good night. Good day wherever and whenever you're listening to this.
Hey so Cammy back with another episode of as we walk and As we know prems of the show you walk every day and as I was walking just usual work home homework I thought about something especially going through my phone because we constantly go through our phone I personally need to detox And when you go through our phones, especially social media, we always see these things hashtag goals relationship goals best friend goals financial goals house like there is a goal for almost any and everything and It gave me an idea and I said hey I wonder if there is a way for me to make this segment and talk about it So that's why today's topic is called hashtag goals Reason why I'm talking about this is because having a goal We should not set it when we see it Having a goal means that that's something that you personally want to do But not to create your own goal based off of what you see if one of your friends is starting to lose weight that should not Cause you to now want to lose weight and then when they stop you basically completely forget that you stop eating bread Or stop eating sugar Having a goal means wanting to do something to better yourself your quality of life Do something for your family if you decide to change careers if you decide to say okay I was doing this and now I want to be an artist or I want to be a writer. I want to be you know anything That should be a personal goal, but not something where we see it and because we see it. We want to do it. I would say social media again is It's not a necessary evil in a way It is because sometimes people use it to actually communicate with their family with their friends who they don't live around anymore they're not around so they use it to kind of Be connected and so in that way it I guess it is Necessary evil necessary in one aspect and then in the next aspect nothing You know, I mean in the sense where you look at it and you can even get depressed They actually have studies on social media and the effects it has and as I have said in you know previous episodes, you know When I kind of throw it in there Social media for me was a detriment social media for me made me and somebody depressed Not to the point of having to seek help But to the point where I had to realize it was doing something to me that normally never happens to me I try my best to be as positive as I can for my own life and when you go through social media it kind of flips it flips a script on you in which you now look at your friends Oh, you know, we're flying out or we're having a new job or you know, I am now featured here I am now here and you look at yourself and you kind of question like am I doing all the right things?
Am I making all the right moves? Am I saying all the right things to the right people? Should I still be having this job? Should I still do this?
I always say our life is our own timeline What one person might do at 18 no matter what it is and how amazing it might be that might not be you at the same age That can be you when you're 28 for me I would say when I look at it and I you know, we see you know younger people who are Doing things and they're out there and they're making their money and you know Just the things that you wish you could do right now I look at it and part of me would go wow They were you know, they're doing their thing when I was that age I was not doing that I was here just chilling And I also have to pause and say you know what they could have handled it at that age I definitely know I couldn't I was also going through some personal things, you know, home issues family issues And you know for me was more mental than anything and I know I personally could not have been able to deal with it So again, that's their timeline and I'm waiting on mine my timeline right now I'm working trying, you know doing the best that I can who knows what else what other event might be in my timeline Hopefully me doing Z casts creating these into podcasts and having these on you know, the podcast app on for Apple I always hope for the best I always say, you know, hopefully one day someone could actually listen to this and Either be inspired or even angered in which we can actually have a conversation or they're confused about something that I said where I can actually You know hear from that person they can comment or they can you know send me? You know DM or they can write me on Twitter and say hey Didn't get this can you kind of explain it because I don't understand why you said this and I don't mind doing that in which I can explain So for me my timeline I'm always I'm hopeful that maybe this podcast thing might actually work for me Maybe it won't but I will be making Z casts slash podcasts Until for me the wheels fall off until I personally can't do this anymore and I am moving on to something bigger and better Hopefully so for me those are my goals These are goals that I have kind of fallen into because I'll be honest when I remember there was someone who I was working with and we were Having a podcast and we tried it and I will say I absolutely sucked. She was more of the structured one I was the one that literally I was a complete hot mess Best forward to now. She doesn't work here anymore.
Well there at our jobs She's worked there anymore and I still had that in me and I wanted to know it there has to be another way to create a podcast Without having to go through all that because during that time didn't know how you even did that and That's when I fell upon Z casts so our Z casts, you know, they go through our Twitter In which we're able to post and we're able to say well Hey, this person is casting and hopefully you get viewers well listeners in that sense. Excuse me You get listeners and you get people to hear what you have to say so for me It's it's kind of a big deal because I don't typically see myself doing this But somehow gradually I fell into this and as I'm gradually falling into this I'm gradually falling in love with what I'm doing and that is what I've always wanted to do I want to find something that I love doing something that I enjoy doing if this became something for me where this became a job or I am asked to be elsewhere because of what I'm doing now I would be ecstatic because again something I do and I'm enjoying it So if you get to do something that you love to do and actually make money while doing it It's a beautiful thing. So again hopes and dreams and goals of mine But again, even when I look at social media you see a relationship goals and you see all these other things that for me, I would say Earlier me would be kind of sad because I'm not in a relationship earlier me would kind of be You know down and you know out and just probably like walking along the street during rainy day Just you know aimlessly wandering. Let's just say it that way and now I see things differently I realize when you're not in a relationship It's the best time to just learn more about yourself fall in love with your own self Do something that you enjoy doing because you are at your best right now You are alone when you're in a relationship You kind of well not really kind of you're sharing more of yourself with that person You know as I have explained in my last podcast Z cast I'll say it both ways as I have both now You know relationships, you know as you're on that journey.
You're sharing now. So it's not going to be just a one-man voyage It's kind of like you and I just brought a new passenger, you know So for me I look at these goals and you know special relationship goals They said it they seem wonderful They seem beautiful but not all the time there as cracked up as we think it is remember social media is like a Polaroid a Polaroid in that moment looks a certain way It has a certain structure to it and it gives off a certain type of energy when we look at it We're either happy sad all the different emotions that can be possible, but It's always the aftermath of that photo what happened during that photo would happen after that photo was taken the lives of those in this photo We don't know Such as in social media when you see a video when you see a photo or you see groups of photos It seems wonderful now. We don't know the lives We do not understand not saying that your life or my life when we post it sucks or we're going through the worst time But we also have to understand we have to realistic with the goals that we're sweat that we see We have to realistic as his life. So when I look at these goals I look at them and I give you know, I usually do my my nod.
I scroll and I know I'm like, okay I see what you're doing to try to do do your thing But I'm not gonna let it allow me to feel any other way or to be any other way other than trying my best to be me So this is not going to be a 30 minute Episode which I still don't know how I do it being a one person. Thankfully get it done It's not gonna be as long But for me having a goal is setting yourself up for your own successes and even for your own failures along the way Because our lives are journeys our lives are like a book Each and every chapter is not gonna be the same each and every page is not going to be identical to another chapter But your story can get better and better because as you learn you get to be a better person So when we are making our goals folks Let us make goals that we can set for ourselves that we can be proud of ourselves It doesn't matter who has to see who has to know but when you look in the mirror You can look at yourself pat yourself on the back and be proud of what you accomplished no matter how small Thank you so much for listening.
