God Can't Go Anywhere! The Omnipresence of God | Psalm 139 | Connecting Faith & Life Podcast Ep37

from Connecting Faith & Life with Mister Brown · host Proclaim Ministries

God can't go anywhere. He knows us and is present throughout our lives, from before birth to eternity. I find this very comforting. God is present in difficult times and in good times. Though pain and suffering will find us, we can trust in God's goodness and sovereignty.[0:00] Intro[0:50] Connecting faith and life[5:00] God's omnipresence[17:30] Psalm 139[20:30] Final ThoughtsBible Verses:Psalm 16:11John 14 - 16John 16:13Acts 17: 10 - 12Luke 18:27Hebrews 6:18Psalm 90:2John 1:1 - 5Psalm 139Job 1: 21Proclaim Ministries is built on helping people connect faith and life. What does it mean to connect faith and life? I believe it means to live in a way where your faith is influencing your life, not the other way around. I grew up in church but didn't always have a heart for God until I learned to live out my faith in every area of my life. I believe it’s important to live a life that is informed by our faith, rather than simply going through the motions of religious practices without a deeper connection to God. Our faith and our lives must be built on the foundation of God’s truth. Some may understand this to be practicing the presence of God in our lives, “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Psalm 16:11Understand that God is always with us, everywhere we go. We must change our mindsets and hearts to reflect this truth, recognizing that God has always existed. This understanding can shape the views we have of ourselves and our purpose in life. “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.” John 16:13“What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” A.W. TozerPeople often have distorted views of God, oversimplifying or exaggerating certain characteristics. The attributes of God are things that are true about Him. Understanding God's attributes, such as His omnipresence, sovereignty, and immutability, impacts our relationship with Him. We can only better understand God’s attributes when we seek to know Him more. God has revealed himself to us and we can learn more about Him. Connecting faith and life is seeking to know God better and living to please Him as much as possible and understanding His constant presence. A.W. Tozer's book "The Knowledge of the Holy" highlights the importance of elevating and purifying our thoughts of God, as well as magnifying our view of Him. Psalm 139 gives us many examples of God’s attributes that we can reflect on. God knows us and is present throughout our lives, from before birth to eternity. I find this very comforting.
