God Centered (Luke 22.14-20) - 7-2-23

from Messages from the Word of God · host Nwankwo via Apogee

July 2, 2023Exodus 12.11-14 and Luke 22.14-20God CenteredHoly Communion is a very sacred event. We must beware of the enemy’s schemes before, during, or after Christian rituals. Satan wants to profane (make irreverent or treat with contempt) our relationship with the LORD.Let me share just three examples found in the Bible. Perhaps this will help you and me to become more God centered.Passover – Judas’ betrayal of Jesus1. Seek God’s covering before. Luke 22.3-62. Seek God’s covering during. Luke 22.21, John 13.26-273. Seek God’s covering after. Luke 22.47Judas had many opportunities to repent before, during, and even after the Passover. But He did not. He did not seek the LORD’s covering to keep Him God centered.Good Friday – Peter’s denial of Jesus1. Seek God’s covering before. Luke 22.31-34, 39-402. Seek God’s covering during. Luke 22.60-623. Seek God’s covering after. Mark 16.7; John 21.2-3 (back to the familiar)Peter had many opportunities to seek the LORD’s covering before, during, and even after the crucifixion of Jesus.Holy Communion – The Apostles’ (and perhaps our) carnality before JesusCarnality is about being self-centered rather than God-centered.1. Seek God’s covering before. John 13.13-15 (physical & spiritual cleansing before Supper)2. Seek God’s covering during. Luke 22.22-23; Matt 26.21-22 (examine your heart)3. Seek God’s covering after. Luke 22.24 (which one is greatest?)The Apostles had and you and I have many opportunities to seek the LORD’s covering before, during, and after sacred observances. If these things could happen to the Apostles who walked with Jesus, these things can happen to us. Satan uses many weapons of mass distractions. To stay God centered we must seek the LORD’s covering always. In other words, pray always. Pray continually. Pray for yourself and pray for others. Amen. Invitation to discipleship.
