2-16-2020 Weekly Messages Meditation of the week: Psalms 46:1-11 Text: 2 Timothy 1:1-18 Word title: God giving victory through the spirit of power, love and sound mind            The special blessing God has given us is found in the letter Apostle Paul unto Timothy, his spiritual son and a pastor. What God has given us is not a spirit of fear, but , but a spirit of power, love and sound mind.               Then we want to realize through the word what kind of special things are in these three spirits that God has given us. Also, when we realize what the special three spirits that spiritual people  enjoy.  It is a tremendous grace for us living in the end times.          First, Jesus himself spoke about what the power is before he ascended: “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.“         That’s right! As Jesus said, power is a spiritual force given by the Holy Spirit. It is also through this power that we are not ashamed of  preaching the gospel of Christ, but through the power of the Holy Spirit, we are able to carry out the ministry of the Witnesses of Christ in any kinds of physical suffering. Thus, Apostle Paul testified that when he preached,  the  Spirit and power was demonstrated not with enticing words of man’s wisdom.(1 Corinthians 2: 4).          And Apostle Paul testified saying, fir the which cause he also suffer these things: nevertheless he is not ashamed: for he knows whom he has believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which he has committed unto him against that day, that is the day of Christ. So he encouraged Timothy to holdfast the forms of sound word, which he has heard of him, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. He also said that good things  which was committed  unto him keep by the Holy Ghost which dwells in them.             Apostle Paul testified unto the saints of Philippians church saying he could do all things given unto him through the power of the Holy Spirit: “I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.“(Phil. 4:12-13)           Therefore, the Spirit of God-given power is the ability to accomplish the mission of the Lord by overcoming all kinds of  difficulties Apostle Paul experienced those when He was in the world. Therefore,  Apostle Paul also testified of that power in his last word: “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” (Timothy 4: 7-8).  Second, we must know the mystical wisdom through the Word of the spirit of love that God gave through the Holy Spirit. Apostle John testified that love is God Himself: “And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.” (1 John 4:16).             Apostle Paul testified of the gifts that are contained in the spirit of love that God has given us: ” Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, 5Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 6Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 7Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. “(1 Corinthians 13: 4-7).         That’s right! Those who receive the spirit of love through the Holy Spirit love God no matter what kind of test comes, so they do not resent God and firmly believe that God will work together for  good through all things. Satan, though, continues to tempt to give the spirit of fear, but through the spirit of love that God has given us, we are able  to live a life that glorifies God. Apostle Paul testified of those who love God: ” And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 29For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.“(Romans 8: 28-29).             Third, we should realize that God gave us  a very important spirit in the last days that is the spirit of sound mind that God has given through the Holy Spirit. It is very well known so many people suffer from depression. We need to realize why people are suffering from depression. Because they did not receive the spirit of sound mind through the Holy Spirit, but they received the fearful spirit from Satan . Even those who  received the spirit of sound mind sometimes could feel depressed by Satan’s temptation. But they don’t to consult with psychologist because of depression.  Satan gives people the spirit of fear knowing them without the Holy Spirit causing them  falling into depression even unto committing suicide. spirit for those who do not receive the Holy Spirit, causing them to be depressed and sometimes even commit suicide.             But even Christians who have received sound mind through the Holy Spirit may be in danger unless they wake up and pray and wear God’s full armor of words not abiding in the Holy Spirit. We also see some Christians take their life because of depression. Of them only God know.  We have to be prepared to resist the devil to have victory over him.          We give thanks and praise to God for giving us the Spirit of power, love, and sound mind through the Holy Spirit. Amen! Hallelujah!
