God in the Clouds

Daniel 7 reads like a nightmare: a raging sea, four beasts, a boasting horn covered in eyeballs. The beasts look like they’re in charge. But there's a second camera. It pulls back to a throne of fire and someone riding the clouds who is really in charge. This is the vision Jesus claimed to be about him when he was on trial for his life. What sounds strange and terrifying is actually the most encouraging thing a person in a chaotic world could read both in the ancient world and today.
