It’s meant to be good news for everyone, particularly for those who have been demeaned or denied. “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.” (Luke 4:18)Freedom is our North Star. Freedom from poverty, freedom from fear, freedom from oppression and depression, for ourselves as individuals, for our communities and nations, for everyone in this whole wide world… This vision is not intended to be pie in the sky for after we die.
