I have to confess something to you and I know some of you will think less of me! I am afraid of heights! However, others in my family have no such fear and so on occasion, as a dad, I have had to try to overcome that fear so that a fearless child of mine can go on a roller coaster with age and height requirements. One occasion I had to overcome my fear of heights was when most of our family went ziplining from tree to tree. What helped me overcome my fear in order to survive the zipline course high up in the tree? Three things: 1) praying to God (and lots of it!); 2) my love for my family; 3) a harness. The harness reminds me of how God works in our lives. He securely fastens us to Himself and keeps us from falling. Pastor Kyle will unpack this further this coming Sunday when he preaches from Jude 24-25. It is such a reminder to cling to Jesus who is able to do more in our lives than we ever thought possible.
