However, the Bible teaches us a different perspective – "God is Love." When we truly understand and embrace this truth, our lives are transformed. We are called to love others with the same sacrificial love that God has shown us. God's Love and Our Love In 1 John 4:7-12, we are reminded that God is the source of love. When we have a deep relationship with him, his love flows through us and enables us to love others selflessly. Our love for God is evident in how we treat those around us. Just as God's love is sacrificial, our love should also be marked by patience, kindness, humility, and respect for others. The Power of Sacrificial Love 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 beautifully describes the characteristics of sacrificial love. It is patient and kind, never jealous or boastful, and it does not seek its own way. This kind of love is not easily angered or resentful. It rejoices in truth and is always ready to forgive. When we love others with this kind of love, we reflect God's love to the world.
