If He wants, He could get our attention most spectacularly. But since the Lord seldom uses the more dramatic methods to gain our attention, we should investigate the less spectacular and regular ways He employs. If you are not acquainted with these biblical ways in which God works, you are apt to miss what God wants to accomplish. Of course, the Lord can get our attention, but He doesn’t want to reinforce our dull hearing but training us to not listen by using dramatic methods. The Lord desires that our hearts grow sensitive to Him without He having to shout.
