"God is the Strength of Our Heart"

October 17, 2023 Daily Devotion:  "God is the Strength of Our Heart"  Psalm 73:25-28 New International Version 25 Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. 26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. 27 Those who are far from you will perish; you destroy all who are unfaithful to you. 28 But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds. The psalmist writes, “Delight yourself in the Lord; and He will give you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37:4). There is nothing wrong with wanting certain things; our longings can motivate us to achieve goals. But rather than blindly asking only for what you wish, pray that God would help you align your needs to His will. Some Christians are afraid to ask God for what they want—even good things. Maybe they’re afraid He won’t listen. But the Lord tells us to approach His throne with boldness and confidence (Hebrews 4:16).
