Weeping may linger for the night, but joy comes with the morning.” - Psalm 30:5God isn’t angry with us. Some times it feels that way when we are hurting, when we are afraid, when we feel like we are stuck. It may feel like we’ve been forsaken, but the Psalmist says that even if we make our beds in hell, God is with us. God isn’t angry with us. We are angry. We are bitter. We are hurting. We often confuse our healthy desire for justice and deliverance with our unhealthy desire for revenge and retribution. It’s true this world and many of us in it are going through a nighttime of hardship and suffering. But these won’t last forever. Joy is coming. Peace is coming. Healing and health are coming. Redemption is coming. They will be here in the morning. We like the prodigal may find ourselves in our own pig pens of despair. But God is waiting to welcome us home, arms stretched wide open to receive us.
