God Our Immanuel

Today, Bishop teaches from John 1:14 on what is means God our "Immanuel."  The word became flesh by the miracle of the virgin birth. "Flesh" in John 1:14 means "human nature," not sinfulness or weakness. Christianity is Christ & Christ is God. In the incarnation, the word did not cease to be God, but became God in human flesh. The glorious presence of deity was embodied in Him. The disciples saw glimpses of His glory on the Mount of Transfiguration. They saw Him display the attributes or characteristics of God (grace, goodness, mercy, wisdom, truth, glory as of the Father. We too, can display the attributes of God because He dwells in us. Those called by His name. As we begin to celebrate the Christmas season, let us display God's characteristics in how we interact with others. Let's display the love of God, because He loved us.
