God Sees and Provides

The famous story of Abraham's call to sacrifice his son Isaac is one that challenges parents in their faith and obedience to God. It also has turned many to suggest that God was a horribly monster to require such a sacrifice. The media portrays Abraham as a father who struggles to obey, while wrestling with emotions over sacrificing his son whom he loved. Yet the story tells us more about Yahweh as one who rises above the gods in the ancient world while calling parents today to examine our child sacrifices.
