God vs Our Limited Understanding of The Heavenly World

All of us have some everyday staples that we need to be able to function comfortably in our lives. Food, shelter, sleep. Have you ever been in a place where one of these things wasn't met well. Money is tight so you never feel like you have quite enough to eat. You have a new baby, and you feel like you have been awake for days or weeks. What about when your phone is dead, and you are cut off from your normal comfort activities. All of these leave us feeling depleted, or 'not quite our best', which is never what we want to present to our God. So why do we see fasting in the Bible?
