Send us Fan Mail60 Seconds of Hope: God Wants To See Us Flourish “Do not be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” - Luke 12:32In the previous chapter, Jesus gives us a model prayer which includes our praying, “May your kingdom come.” The Kingdom of God in the gospels represents a state of individual and collective wellbeing. We have peace within us and peace among us. In other words we are to desire and work for a world in which there are no losers. Rather we are to long for, desire, and labor for a world in which it is possible for everyone to thrive and flourish. We move beyond the zero sum thinking that there is only so much good to around and we’d better get ours before it’s gone. We need not live in fear. The writer of Luke assures us through Jesus’s words that God desires us all to experience the shalom of the Kingdom of God. God wants to see everyone individually and all of us collectively to flourish. We are to live our lives trusting this fact as our central truth. I’m Horace McMillon. This is 60 Seconds of Hope.
